The owner and founder of Geoshelters, James Hancock, has been custom-building Geoshelters since 2009 with his factory crew. He worked with many Disaster Relief programs, and saw that the industry was lacking in affordable shelters that would last more than one or two hard winters or seasons. He set out to find which shelter would be best for his family by buying one of each of the best tent systems he could find, and then tested them out while hunting or camping.
For something strong enough to endure extreme winter or summer weather, he found many drawbacks with other tent systems, especially the weight it took to pack them around. Almost all canvas tents with the kind of square footage he wanted (over 400 sq. ft.) weighed over 600 lbs. That was one of the biggest reasons he set out to design and mathematically build a unique shelter that would prove out over many years of usage to be the lightest but strongest Shelter available for mobility, dependability, durability and workability.
Secure Ordering & Payment Options
Those who are ordering in Utah will have to pay 6.75% tax, but may pick up their shelter once they are finished (usually 3 months after order is placed/or Group Buy is closed). Those who are not in Utah will not have to pay tax.
** IMPORTANT NOTE: Shipping is added AFTER the shelter is finished, and it is ready to ship out. Shipping rates differ depending where you live. All shelters are shipped via truck. Before purchasing, it is advisable to call 1-877-274-9323 if you have any concerns about shipping. Because of fluctuating shipping prices, shipping cannot be assessed until time of delivery.
Returns & Refunds
There are no Returns or Refunds, but Geoshelters will do everything they need to in order to fulfill the purchase order as per request and payment.
How Do I Place an Order?
1- We recommend sending in payment with a personal check, money order or cashier's check to our addresss: 1031 N. 800 E. Springville, UT. 84663. This saves you an Credit Card fees, and allows us to keep our pricing lower for more people's benefit. If there is a chargeback because of insufficient funds, your order is cancelled. You may begin the order process again, or send in valid payment. With Group Buys, there is a definite cut-off date, where no more orders will be taken at a discounted price.
2- You may purchase through our Shopping Cart, which will add a 3% surcharge for Credit Card payments because of the larger expense this purchase entails. You may also finance your purchase through our Paypal Financing option at 0% interest for 6 months. Click on the Paypal Financing button to do this.
Q: How Long Does My Geoshelter Take to Custom Build?
A: The average time it takes to finish a Geoshelter is 6-8 weeks. It may take up to 90 days after a Large Group Order is placed, and you are part of a larger Batch of Orders. Here at Buy Geoshelters, we will do our best to keep you updated.
Q: Are there Refunds?
A: No. All sales are final. If there is anything that Geoshelters needs to correct, they are more than helpful to make things right.
Q: Can I finance my Geoshelter Purchase?
A: Yes, through Paypal financing, you have 6 months with 0% interest to pay for your Geoshelter. Of course, you need to apply for it at check-out and qualify for their financing, but the process is relatively easy and you will know quickly if you can finance it or not.
Q: How strong is the zipper for the door?
A: Often zippers are the weakest point of any shelter, which is why we chose to use the strongest zipper available, the same YKK #10 required by the military in many of their applications.
Q: Why does it take so long to manufacture a Geoshelter?
A: Geoshelters are custom made to each order. Because of the workmanship and the huge inventory of raw materials required to manufacture each shelter, much care is taken in the actual craftsmanship and heavy stitching, the industrial piecing together of all the working parts, and assembling each shelter to specification. No two orders are the same, from color, to add-ons, upgrades, and accessories for each order.
Q: If the vinyl cover is so strong, why is a Repair kit required?
A: No on is required to buy a repair kit, but just as a huge wind storm can create "flying sword"-type branches that can pierce through roof layers of a home, so can there be accidents when living long-term in a Geoshelter. We highly recommend buying 1-2 repair kits just in case. It is better to be prepared.
Q: Do you have a vestibule available to add to the dome?
A: YES!!! Geoshelters is very excited about their NEW line of Kupoli GeoShelters, equipped with NEW wide doorways that our NEW Kupoli Vestibule easily attaches to, which gives you an additional 4.5 feet of entryway. Great for a mud room, Bathroom, Shower, etc.
Q: Can you connect multiple domes together?
A: YES!!! The NEW Kupoli Doorways are designed with the ability to attach mutiple domes together using our NEW Kupoli Dome- to-Dome Connectors. A 24’ GeoShelter can now be attached to another 24’ or 16’ Shelter.
